Solid mechanics in civil engineering is the branch of mechanics that studies the behavior of solid materials when subjected to forces, temperature changes, and other external or internal factors.
Environmental Engineering is a multidisciplinary branch of civil engineering that focuses on protecting and improving the natural environment to safeguard human health and promote sustainable development. It involves the study and application of scientific and engineering principles to control pollution, manage natural resources, and design systems for water supply, wastewater treatment, solid waste management, air pollution control, and environmental impact assessment.
This course introduces students to the fundamentals and advanced techniques of computer-aided design (CAD) and analysis. It focuses on the geometric modeling of components, assemblies, and systems using modern CAD software. Emphasis is placed on the integration of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools for stress, thermal, and dynamic simulations to predict real-world behavior of mechanical parts and assemblies. Students will gain practical skills in 2D drafting, 3D modeling, meshing, and result interpretation, preparing them for design validation and optimization in engineering applications.
