In this section, we explore the fundamental importance of political parties in democratic governance and their multifaceted functions including contesting elections, forming governments, and shaping public policies. However, they face considerable challenges such as lack of internal democracy, dynastic succession, influence of money and muscle power, and often limited ideological choices for voters.
