Dairy — the other common activity
Dairy farming plays a crucial role in the economic activities of Palampur, alongside agriculture. Most families in the village engage in dairy farming, feeding their buffaloes with grass, jowar, and bajra grown during the rainy season. The milk produced is primarily sold in Raiganj, the closest large village. To facilitate this trade, two traders from Shahpur have established collection and chilling centers in Raiganj, which help transport milk to larger towns and cities. This section emphasizes the importance of dairy as a livelihood source for many families and shows how local resources and infrastructure contribute to the local economy.
