In recent years, awareness has increased regarding the detrimental effects of chemical fertilizers and pesticides on human health and the environment. Conventional agriculture heavily utilizes these chemicals, which contaminate the food supply, harm ecosystems, and compromise soil quality. In contrast, organic farming presents an eco-friendly technological approach to agriculture aimed at maintaining ecological balance and enhancing food safety. Organic agriculture focuses on using locally produced organic inputs that are cost-effective, leading to sustainable income generation. Furthermore, organically produced foods have shown greater nutritional value, making them increasingly popular in the global market. However, the transition to organic farming faces hurdles such as inadequate infrastructure and initial yield disparities compared to conventional methods. Despite these challenges, the potential for organic farming to support sustainable development in India remains significant, enhancing economic prospects for small farmers in the long term.
