And, in the last FORECAFE third stage it was designated for construction of schools, roads and health care centres, which has more to do with the public infrastructure, police stations, religious infrastructure like churches and social activity centres and FORECAFE 1, 2 and 3 together it talks about 66 crores rupees.

The third stage of the FORECAFE project focused on constructing key public infrastructures such as schools, roads, and healthcare centers. Think of a community that has suffered from a natural disaster, similar to how a school, a hospital, and roads are essential parts for recovery. If you rebuild these infrastructures, it's like fixing the heart of a community, allowing it to heal and thrive again.

And first of all, making their own decisions about the construction they wanted. So, now how this decentralization process have explained, have been implemented. Now, in most of the cases being a farmer’s community...

In the project, community members were empowered to make decisions about the construction that best suited their needs. This decentralization process involved understanding their housing and economic needs and drafting plans accordingly. Farmers, owning land and possessing construction skills, participated actively in rebuilding their homes. This engagement emphasizes the role of local knowledge and decision-making in effective recovery efforts.

Imagine a group of friends deciding how to redesign a community park. Instead of an outsider dictating the changes, everyone shares their ideas based on what they value—play areas for kids, gardens for relaxation, or walking paths. Similarly, the farmers were able to voice their preferences for how they wanted to rebuild their homes, leading to more satisfactory outcomes.

So how the process, so the process of FORECAFE 1 and 2 fund in the housing reconstruction, first, once the society the individuals when they realize the housing needs...

The reconstruction process involved several support mechanisms. Community members first recognized their housing and economic needs, documenting them which facilitated communication with engineers. The project's engineers provided technical expertise and assistance in various necessary aspects, such as ensuring the constructions adhered to safety standards.

Consider a school science fair project. Students identify a problem, plan a solution, and get help from teachers to implement their ideas. In the same way, farmers in the FORECAFE project identified their housing needs and collaborated with engineers to make their constructions safe and effective.

For these 3 options, they have been getting some support, one is the individual option, the second one is houses from other NGOs programs and a program of prefabricated houses promoted by the coffee grower’s organizations...

Think of a restaurant menu with a variety of choices. Diners can choose based on their preferences, dietary restrictions, or even what they're in the mood for. Similarly, the FORECAFE project offered different housing solutions, enabling families to select what worked best for them.

Apart from this, there is also the soft outputs which is about 10,000 direct. And indirect jobs have been created, information and education for residents and construction companies...

The project not only focused on physical reconstruction but also generated significant employment opportunities, with around 10,000 jobs created directly and indirectly. It also emphasized the importance of educating both residents and construction companies, helping them gain skills while participating in the projects, thereby enhancing community resilience.

Consider a new business opening up in a town. It hires locals, trains them, and boosts the economy. The same is true here; as the reconstruction progressed, more jobs were created, giving residents skills and the ability to work within their community.

Of course, for any project, there are always some downturns... continuity aspect has to be looked into it.

Every project has challenges, and in this case, one of the main issues was the lack of coverage for informal dwellers and the loss of knowledge after the project finished. This raises concerns about the sustainability of efforts and the need for better continuity in knowledge transfer to future projects.

Imagine you have a garden that thrives for a season, but if you don't take care of it, it withers away. Similarly, if the learnings from the FORECAFE project aren't carried forward, the progress made could be lost, impacting future recovery efforts.
