9. Sanction Drawing

A working plan having the following additional drawings/ details is referred to as Sanction Plan:

1. Location map
2. Key plan
3. Details having ward no., corporation division, details of In-charge Engineer, owner’s name and present address.
4. Details of Sanctioning Authority along with the space for seal and signature of approval.
5. Details of plot area, built up area, plinth area and FAR (approved and proposed).

A 'Sanction Plan' is a detailed blueprint that not only includes the main design of a building but also incorporates additional important information. First, a location map shows where the building will be situated. Next, a key plan gives a broader view of the area.

The details of the ward number, corporation division, and information about the in-charge engineer, as well as the owner’s name and address, help in identifying the project owner and responsible officials. This is essential for administrative and regulatory purposes.

The approval section is vital because it indicates that the plan has been officially sanctioned, hence the need for a space for the seal and signatures of the sanctioning authority.

Lastly, the plan must provide clear specifics about the plot area, built-up area, plinth area, and Floor Area Ratio (FAR), which are crucial for understanding the scale and usage of the building.

Think of a Sanction Plan like a detailed itinerary for a vacation. Just as the itinerary lists all necessary information such as locations, dates, and contacts, a Sanction Plan includes vital details about a building project — where it is, who is responsible, and how big it should be.

Mandatory instructions:

1. Basement/ Stilt floor/ GF and part of ground floor where car parking is shown is reserved for parking purposes only and shall not be converted to any other purpose.
2. Necessary ducts for telephone cables, cubicles at ground level for postal services, and space for dumping garbage within the premises shall be provided.
3. Licence and approved plans shall be displayed in a conspicuous place of the licensed premises.
4. The applicant shall ensure that the Rainwater Harvesting Structures are provided and maintained in good condition for storage of water for non-potable purposes or recharge of groundwater at all times having a minimum total capacity mentioned in the bye-laws 32(a).
5. Employment of child labour in the construction activities is strictly prohibited.
